Google Desktop is a very neat and simple way to keep track of your most useful computer and Internet features. Google Desktop is a free application that can be downloaded and insatlled for seconds. It integrates a hosting widget/sidebar on your desktop where you can launch applications, get the news, weather, mail, and more. It can be used with XP, Vista, Mac and Linux.
The interface as well as the gadgets have a very sleek and elegant design which compliment your desktop's look. New gadgets and add-ons are added day by day.
Although Google Desktop uses a very small amount of memory and runs quite smoothly on the background, the version 5.8 implements significant enhancements about performance at startup and shutdown. The 3rd party gadgets for Google Desktop works also even smoothly on that version of this product. So, upgrading Google Desktop is strongly encouraged :)
Still Google Desktop 5.8 is not an ideal one, it has some disadvantages, for example, some gadgets do not work properly. |
